This song truly connects my heart to the heart of the orphan in a way that is hard to describe...I can feel their heart cry through this song.....but it also is a song that gives hope, even in the midst of the despair of being abandoned. There is always HOPE! Beautiful, deep and yes, very moving!
This song makes me want to adopt all the orphans and bring them home with me.

Wow. The vocal performance is transcendent. Simple beauty. The song doesn't go crazy with huge instrumentation and vocal riffing because it simply doesn't have to. Perfect.

Your very nice vocal performance can't hide the fact that this song is too slow, too long and too boring. It's so slow that I can't keep up with what its supposed to be about. Your singing is very good but I just can't follow the meaning of this song. Sorry.

I hope this song not only brings emotion, but causes those to who year it to reach into their pockets and spend money for the babies. We did, and do, and never miss a nickle spend on the little ones. Michael & Daniel
Loved this! Newguy1 is such a troll!

Sweet voice....music and lyrics are...um...amateur. I know it's hard to criticize a young and hopeful artist. I'm sure you and all of your friends that voted for this are nice enough people, but genuinely excellent music on this site is overlooked simply as a result of the relative ease which one can turn a talent search into a Junior High popularity contest!!!!!!

oh, shut up mugwump. i'm not her friend, and i think this is one of the better songs on here. the lyrical use of the pieces of different lullabies are amazingly original. her voice is more than just sweet, it's poignant and wistful and mature, and full of longing. this song is pretty near perfect, and deserves to be number 1. 5 stars from me.

Looks like we have 2 trolls. Newguy1 AND Mugwump3. I think this sounds great and deserves to be in the place that it is at! #1! Mugwump must be mad because he doesn't have enough friends to get Hero Inside You moving up the charts. Except maybe newguy1. Anyway, I loved this one last week as it was high in the charts and I love it no less today. PS: I don't know Rebecca - she's not my friend.

I definitely don't get how this song qualifies as "mediocre at best". The simplicity of the lyrics and piano (which is played very, very well, I might add) really add to the telling of the story, which is well crafted, lyrically. It's a little long, but worth it, in my opinion.

Sounds like something you would hear playing over the credits of a tear-jerker episode of Law and Order SVU. The solo piano is very nice and excellent vocals but I think it needs a little more dramatic production near the end.
Love to hear more from this artist.
Great piano and singing. Could use a pick up somewhere to keep the song dramatic like Alibertarian says.
Your voice is absolutely beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful voice, lyric, and tenderness. Rebecca has a sound similar to one of my favorite singers, Sara Groves - and I mean this completely as a compliment. Where can I buy the album??
I just heard your song Lullabye on The Hugh Hewitt Show on 990AM while driving home from work. You had a 240 lb., 6' 5", 38 yr. old man in tears. I don't remember the last time I ever cried like that; probably when I was a little kid.
Beautiful song, beautiful voice, best wishes to you.
Great song and message ... Lullabye for children of the Ukraine. This songwriter should get more attention. Best wishes and Merry Christmas.

Amazing song! I love the vocals! The story behind the song adds tons of meaning. I especially connected with the song, as I said the prayer, that is echoed throughout the song, every night when I was growing up. Brought back ton's of memories. I can't wait to listen to your other work. Merry Christmas!!
Those of us who grew up with loving parents in a good home could never imagine how these kids feel. You have an incredible gift of conveying what they go through. Thank you.
Man...I heard your song on the radio the other day and it floored me. I'm a musician in Hawaii and I haven't felt anything that moved me like this one in a very long time... Keep it up..don't lose your heart.

What a profoundly emotional work of art. As the father of a severely mentally disabled boy this song hit me hard because i often wonder what he feels and whether it's hollowness or happiness. Through your song i felt both the emptiness of dispair and the hope of a better life in your simple yet deeply moving lyrics. Your song said things I wish i could communicate to him. i'm 49 and haven't cried for years...till now.

Very moving. Don't know what it means "In the language they speak, there is no word for 'hope'". Nadezhda is the word for hope in Russian. She must mean this poetically. I will check out hopefulhearts...
I first heard this on Hugh Hewitt's show, too, and was very moved by it... What a beautiful song! I love all your songs, but this is probably my favorite.
Heard this on Hugh Hewit a while back. Glad to see your still at the top.
I like her voice with the piano better than with the sax and horns in the other tune. Her voice has a nice texture which lulls you into the music. Ilike what I'm hearing.
