DUDE! This song is SO accurate and sad! I think i've been in a few of these dives doing inspections in Aurora CO - never agin - man I don't miss those days AT ALL. Thanks for the memories!
Too hard to get into the meaning of this song. the music is good but I don't get the words. I lost interst after 60 seconds. Sorry, this one is a flop. Good luck.

Dear newguy1, shut up! This song is dripping wet with sweet disgusting bitter goodness. I haven't heard anything this original in a long time. Sorry newguy1, I'm an adult and I appreciate true substance in a song.

I really loved the musci on this and the picture painted of the sad folks at this bar. Newguy1, take another listen, maybe you'll learn something - you are a troll!

Hell ya - been there, done that! LOL
Wasn't hearing the musci RedMeat was hearing. Not exactly sure if I've ever heard a musci...
The Screamin' Hollar Inn
C. Paul Evans Pedersen, Jr.
V1
The rains fallin' down like there ain't ever gonna be a tomorrow, tonight.
And this joint is as empty as my drinks been,
Hope Missy barkeep comes to make it right.
And as I sing my heart out to her as she fills my glass,
I see the reg'lars file in, right on que, at a quarter past,
And predictably start their thousand-mile starin',
Through old memories for as long as they last...
CHORUS
As I'm sittin' on my barstool,
Here at the Screamin' Hollar Inn,
Where we shoot pool, as we curse the "might-have-beens",
Here at the Screamin'...The Screamin' Hollar Inn.
The Screamin' Hollar Inn.
The Screamin' Hollar Inn..........
V2
There ain't no denyin' you've reached the end of the line when they call you a reg'lar here.
And it's said that there's lots of fallen stars landed,
But exactly who ain't exactly clear.
They all drift in with the same look in their eyes,
Unsure if it's the world or themselves that they dispise.
And they go about pourin' their bad luck out,
On top of whiskey, with just a little ice...
BRIDGE
And the fist holes in the wall cry "What if!", and "What for!",
Almost as loud as the broken mirror pieces on the floor.
Ain't no way back, and there ain't no way ahead,
For the names scratched in the walls of the "shouldda beens", and "couldda saids".
V3
When you end up a-wanderin' 'round aimlessly unsure of what the hell it is life has in store for you,
You might try the Screamin' Hollar Inn's blamelessly condescending point of view.
They'll hang your picture, oh, so proudly, on the wall,
Under the caption that reads, "The Victims Of The Fall".
And I'll thank you for leavin' me somethin',
So I can buy me another drink or two....
There ya go, NewGuy1. Hope that helps make sense of it all.
Paul
Not really. Valiant effort but I just don't understand the point of your song. Losers sitting in a bar?

You're either stupid, or just a fuckin' jerk-off, newboy. Probably both. Now, go play with the children in the garage.
LOL. I think him and Jon are mostly just stupid and you can't fix stupid and we probly shouldn't let them around children.

Sounds a lot like Paul Thorn ("It's a Great Day, To Kick Somebody's A$$")
One of the oddest melody lines I've heard in a while but it works! Unique voice.
Best song I've heard anywhere for quite a while. Lyrics have a surreal, almost Twilight Zone quality about them.

HA! I don't need no stinkin' lyric sheet. I hear every word loud and clear and the picture you paint of the folks hangin' out at this place is mesmerizing. I think we've all been to one of these dives at one time or another. I remember "The Family Bar" in downtown Littleton. Ya - the FAMILY bar! Like you would bring your whole family (Suzie and little Billy) to the bar with you. I remember the bar tender getting so drunk he'd start passing out free drinks to everyone. I don't know how they stayed in business as long as they did.

Now this is an extremely cool tune. The words fit together like a puzzle & set the mood. We got 10,000 bars like this in Wisconsin, all with a friday fish fry. Don't you know.
Nice deep low voice. It's one of I kind!
I'm basically a rocker! But this is something special!
