Genre: 'Alternative' 'Dance' 'Powerpop'

The Clearwater, Florida based quartet started approximately 1980, After only a few months of rehearsal "The Fanatics" consisting of: Art Whitney-Drums, Dwain Morris-guitar/vocals, Kirk Sink- guitar/vocals and Rick Amorose-bass. Deciding to test the waters and rather surprised at the increasing crowds response to their music which includes a constellate of original songs written by Dwain & Kirk, also playing covers from bands such as the Cure, 999, Undertones and The Clash etc. Immediately calls poured in from clubs & venues expressing extreme interest in them. They played virtually everywhere in the Tampa Bay area gaining additional followers. Before long they were opening for national acts including: The Ramones, Gene Loves Jezebel, Thompson Twins, Modern English, Stray Cats, X and The Members; To name just a few. They then ventured off on a modest tour along the east coast after releasing a video which guest starred Jonathan Le Bon (Brother of Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran.-Video can be viewed on "Pics" page) The Fanatics disbanded around 1987 due to baby fanatics and other state of affairs that cause boys to finally mature. Regrouping in 2006 they played a few gigs with an astronomical reception. And now plan to continue considering the response. And who the hell does'nt like the 80's sound and memories. They are currently working with a new addition (Chris Beach, see pics page on Fanatics site for more info) in thier studio designed and built by the one and only NitWitney And will be performing soon with their signature Powerful /original/ alternative sounds with some suprise sound changes.
